The
question arises, "How? How can I get myself
to eat with gratitude in the conscious presence
of God?"
First, put things into perspective: If you
were rock climbing, taming a lion or bungee
jumping, would you be able to concentrate
for 20 seconds? Of course you would!
Eating with God is no different. If it's your
priority, you will find a way to focus through
each bite. If not, guess what? You'll come
up with hundreds of reasonable excuses for
not doing so.
Now, when and why do you fully focus you attention
on anything? Is it something at work that
demands your undivided attention? Possibly
it is one of your children who grabs you by
the face and holds your face right next to
her mouth as she forces you to watch her lips.
Now, maybe you find it difficult to focus
on any one thing. If that's the case, then
this new eating opportunity will improve you
life exponentially. Not only will you be able
to enjoy every bite, but you will be learning
the useful habit of being able to focus on
the most important thing, instead on just
whatever is present in the periphery right
then.
So, how do you eat with gratitude in the conscious
presence of God? One bite at a time. If you
cannot focus on the bite, you just don't get
that bite. And you must not worry that you
will starve to death… people starve after
40 days with zero bites of food. I'm just
pretty sure that you'll get yourself to focus
for at least a few bites every single day.
This is huge. This could be life changing.
This could be one of the best things that
has ever happened to you! So, let's get going. |
